Clinical Services

Overview: Core Diagnostics is a California licensed CLIA certified laboratory specializing in anatomic pathology, cytopathology, and molecular diagnostics. The lab performs a full range of anatomic pathology and cytopathology services, including histopathology, liquid-based cytology, special stains, and immunohistochemistry.

The clinical laboratory has deep expertise in a variety of molecular diagnostic assays and techniques with a focus on molecular oncology. Molecular tests performed in the lab include a wide spectrum of fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) and mutational analyses. Testing spans the spectrum of solid tumors, including breast, prostate, gastric, colon, lung, brain, bladder, and cervical cancers. The lab also offers a varied menu of tests for the analysis of hematolymphoid malignancies, including leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, and myelodysplastic syndromes.

To perform these molecular tests, the clinical laboratory has implemented cutting-edge platforms, including Bioview’s Allegro™ fluorescent imaging system and Solo™ workstation for FISH analysis, Biocare’s intelliPATH platform for immunohistochemistry, ABI real-time PCR systems for mutational analyses, and ProSigna from NanoString for gene expression assays, among others.

The Core Diagnostics test menu in molecular diagnostics is complemented by a nationally-recognized subspecialty expert panel of pathologists providing expertise across all areas of anatomic pathology, cytopathology, and molecular testing. Our expert pathologists are available for primary diagnosis and consultations.

Core Diagnostics is committed to working with other clinical laboratories and pathology practices to provide access to cutting-edge molecular testing and specialized pathologists. The laboratory is happy to provide full-service testing and interpretation or testing only, depending on client needs.
